All things GIRLY!

Hello! This is Renee, and I have the honour of hosting the blog this week. Mid-August! This year has already gone so fast, and here we are mid-August, so much happening this month, birthdays, conferences and friends visiting just to name a few. But whats really exciting ATM is the talent pouring out of the Scrapware DT! This post is dedicated to all things girly! Who doesn't just love to scrap a girly, girl layout or off the page project? Below is my layout "backyard beauties". Some gorgeous pics of my two daughters, Viola and Charlotte and my God daughter- Milly in our backyard. The scrumptious Scrapware I have used on this layout is:
AZ10 Mini Antique Lowercase
CH131 Flourish Shelley

I roughly embossed the letters using a fine blue powder and ink to give them a shabby feel. The flourish was a little bit more tricky but totally worth the effort! I painted the entire flourish with a pink shimmery nail polish and placed a recycled piece of white tulle over the top and into the wet polish. Once the polish had entirely dried I then trimmed of the excess tulle and added some pearls.

Next up the talented Taryn has created a work of art for her little princess!

"The princess castle was perfect to create some wall art for the princess in our family....
To create this piece, I have used various shades of paint mixed with some impasto for a little dimension. After painting, I have applied a coat of Kaiser gloss finish, along with sprinkles of diamond glitter. The clouds were painted a pale pink, and then coated with diamond glitter all over. The alphas and grasses were finished with some dimensional magic."

"For the backing board and frame, I have used the inside pieces from one of the new 12x12 frames. I have also used: AZ10 Mini Antique Lowercase
CH351 Princess Castle CH195MiniGrass KD02Clouds
Here is another classically "Gilly" layout from Gillian!

Gilly has used: CH339 Do-Hicky 5 AZ10 Mini Antique Lowercase

Gill has painted the Do-Hickys with white gesso, covered them with dimensional magic, then sprinkled them with Vintage glitter glass, then leave to dry. Vintage glitter glass is an awesome way to give any of your Scrapware chippies some added texture!

A close up of the her beautiful work! The Do-Hickey just give the page that romantical and whimsical feel - just love it!

And now for desert! Nat has indulged us in the sweetness that is her layouts! Nat's first layout "sunshine" showcases the following Scrapware chippies:
CH329 Swallows AZ02Steelfish The The results speak for them selves - stunning!

Nat has inked then glimmer misted, cuttlebugged and then coated the swallow with a coat of dimensional magic to achieve this beautiful finish. The letters are completed using the same technique only minus the embossing. To achieve the tonal effect Nat has painted on the glimmer mist.

Nat's next additions features: CH298-Vine Branches 12"Nat has cut these De-vines vines down to size and simply given them a coat of glimmer mist to finish them off.

A close up of Nat's gorgeous, Oh so girly, layout.

Finally to finish off the post we have another wonderful creation from Nat.
Nat has used:
WT27-Beautiful Perfect Princess
CH310-3D Butterfly Small
CH06 Chipboard Flower Swirls

Nat has used Chalk ink in two different colours to give the gradient look to her chippy word and the same technique was used on the butterfly.

To finish off the flower swirls Nat has again simply glimmer misted with a gorgeous green mist.

Thanks for sharing all your amazing work ladies! Watch this space for some awesome techniques on Wednesday and I will also be reveling a few more "sparkling" layouts of my own later on in the week!
