Flourishes!

Hi! Georgia here.  I love flourishes, so this week's product focus is right up my alley! There are so many though, the hardest part was choosing which one to work with. One of the things i love most about flourishes is that you can cut them down to suit your page. I needed something big and bold to match in with my paper and so I finally settled on using a part of the 12" vine CH269...

I have just simply painted it and let it spill over onto my kraft background to make it balance out my page.

Natalie has come up with his stunning page using CH131 shelley

Natalie has used glimmermist on the flourish and then continued this onto her background to come up with a gorgeously soft and romantic page.

Kim has used the new butterfly flourish LW15 on her beautiful page..

Kim has painted the butterflies with smooch inks, then twinkling h2os and then finished with rock candy distress stickles. The flourishes are painted with gold smooch ink and finished with gold glitter glue. Isn't the effect amazing?

Last but not least is this gorgeous page from Lisa..

Lisa has used the vine corner CH297 and flourish set 2 FS02 and coloured the chipboard with chalk.

Now I'm off to work on a couple of projects for Friday's blog post. It is going to be very difficult actually, I have the hugest pile of DELICIOUS new products which are being released at SIA next week that I'm not allowed to touch....

Have a good week!

Using embellishments in your titles

I was working on this layout of my sister's last day in Sydney before she headed back out to London, and I had an idea to use the little house in the title instead of the word home. I know I am not the first to have this idea, but it is not something that I normally do, but I was really happy with how it turned out ...

Detail shot of the title ...

I also used some Scrapware little butterflies - one of my favourite Scrapware products ...

The Scrapware products that I used on this page are:
* mini butterflies (mini f)
* Retro lowercase alpha (az06)
* Houses mini (CH196)

So have a go at incorporating an embellishment into your title instead of a word!

Cheers, Kim :o)

New year share

My post is suppose to go up on New Year's day, but if all goes to plan, I don't think I will feel like it so here is my share a couple of days early!

I love how Scrapware products can add the perfect finishing touch to a layout. On 'i love you' I have used Scrapware keys and the phrase i (heartshape) you. I used glimmermist on the keys and Smooch ink on the phrase.

I only attached the large key to the page, so the other two keys can swing free - they are all tied together at the top with twine.

A close up of the phrase.

The products used were:
* Keys - CH82
* i love you phrase - CH202

I hope you are all still finding some time to scrapbook over the festive season.

Love this frame ...

When Ange sent me this frame, I fell in love with it instantly and just had to use it to create this little scene for my birthday photos ...

I painted and sprayed the stems of the flowers first and then covered the outside of the frame in patterned paper. The clouds were finished with a crackle paint. The butterflies are finished with a coat of Stickles, the bird is sprayed with glimmermist and the buttons are painted and glimmermisted before being sewn on. The flowers are super old Making Memories ones that were just perfect for this scene.

Here are some detailed shots ...

The products that I have used are:
* Naomi's sunshine and blooms (CH237)
* mini butterflies (mini f)
* swallows (CH81)
* square buttons (BS12)

I hope this inspires you to create you own little scene!
