Two tone Inking and Misting

Hey there!

So this week it's my turn to show you how to do something fabulous with Scrapware Chipboard.

I love this really easy technique to create a two tone look on titles, alphas and even flowers.
I use ColorBox Chalk Ink as it is instant drying and gives a really nice finish. I also use Tattered Angels Glimmermist.

So we start off with some raw chipboard.

For the first look, I'm using the ColorBox Chalk Inks - Ive used Orchid Pastel and Dark Peony.
Using the lighter colour, apply the ink across the top of the chipboard in a nice and even coat.
Using the darker colour, ink the bottom half but try and graduate the ink to blend it up so that you don't have a distinct line.
I then add a light spray of Glimmermist - this helps "blend" the inks together. I used a very light pink spray.

And you're done!


For the next technique, I use Glimmermist and a paintbrush. By using a brush, you can get the colour in the exact spot you want. Start off again with the lighter colour (I used Sherbert) and paint it all over. Using a heat gun, dry it off.
Using a darker colour (Bubblegum) paint it on concentrating on the area just out from the centre. Paint on the darker colour (SweetPea) on the outer edges of the petals, blending in the colour. Dry off with a heat gun. Once it is dry, you will be able to see how the three colours are blending into each other. If you find there is not enough colour on the edges, go back over using Chalk Ink and highlight!

These techniques look faboulus in any colour and will add an extra elemnt to you cards or scrapbook pages.
