SEWING....

Have you ever tried to machine sew over your chipboard and embellies? I was always a little scared too but I found it was easy, fun and creates an awesome effect on your layouts.
For my layout titled hero I have used the Impact white correboard letters found here.
My first step was to add some double side tape to the back of the letters. Remember to put the tape somewhere on the letters where you are not going to sew....as this may clog the needle, I have added the tape to the bottom.
Next I stuck down my letters in place and then using just regular thread and a straight stitch, sew over your letters , go a little slower than normal so you know exactly where you are going. I sewed over the letters a couple of times.
I also added a chipboard flourish 1 found here, to simulate the waves, I left it raw and added some brown chalk ink for a bit of definition.I hope I have inspired you to get out your sewing machine and do some sewing on your chipboard!
