This week is Christmas Card week for the Scrapware Design Team. I was so excited about that because making Christmas cards is really one of my favourite things about Christmas. Giving a handmade card is so much more rewarding then giving a store bought one!

My first card features the Merry Christmas CS56 word sheet. These are just so perfect for cards. I have also used the Christmas Tall Trees, CS39. I have painted all three trees with a base coat of Lumiere Pearl White, followed by crystal glitter for one, German Scrap borders for the second and clear beads on the third tree. I love to use shades of white for Christmas, rather than always the traditional reds and greens.

My second card is done using the Scrapware Small Nadine Frame CH381 and the Poinsettia CS50. I have painted the frame with the Gold Lumiere and simply put patterned paper behind. I then covered the larger Poinsettia with the same paper and the smaller poinsettia with the gold Lumiere and layered them together. I then added some gold beads for the centre. The word "Christmas" comes from the Merry Christmas word sheet CS56. This is a 4 pack but it is also available in an 8 pack, CS57, which is perfect for bulk card making!

The last card I made features the Scrapware Christmas Baubles, CS40. I have adhered patterned paper behind the baubles so that the pattern is visible through the cut out parts of the bauble. I have then painted it white followed with a touch of Gold Lumiere paint, and decorated further with some German Scrap borders. Add some ball chain to make the baubles look like they are really hanging and voila, a very effective and terribly easy card to make!
Stay tuned as I know some of the other DT girls have more cards to share with you this week too.
Happy Christmas Card making!
