A partridge in a pear tree...

The 12 days of Christmas is one of my favourite Christmas Carols, so when I saw Scrapware's NEW "Partridge in a pear tree", I just knew I had to make my family a keepsake we could enjoy for years to come.   So I turned the diecut pieces from this...

into this...

Scrapware products:
CS35 Partridge in a Pear Tree
AZ02 Steelfish Lowercase Alphabet
CHmini-n Mini Xmas Stars
Other:
PP - Little Yellow Bicycle
Stamp - Autumn Leaves
Bling - Kaiser
Paint, Inks, Ribbon

Here's how...I painted the edge of a 6x12 canvas with gold paint and then covered with Christmassy patterned paper.  I then stamped the edge with a border stamp in gold and added a contrasting strip of pp across the canvas.   I have left the chipboard branches raw.   Each of the leaves have been inked with 2 shades of green so they are two-tonned.  I've also painted the pears gold.  I highly recommend inking/painting both of these while they are still attached to the sheet - you'll have less mess to deal with and you can decide when you assemble it how many you want to use.  The bird is also inked with two shades of brown, with a little gold on the tail feathers, crest and beak.  Glue the branch and leaves to canvas and attach pears with foam tape.  Fill in the gaps with two shades of bling and finish off with a bow at the base of the tree.  Lastly, add your title - I have used a Scrapware mini xmas star to dot the "i" in "first".  This was such a fun and easy project to do and the kids have loved it...I know I can't helping humming along each time I see it.   Merry Christmas all...Lisa.
