Birds and feathers and flourishes, oh my...

One of the hottest trends in scrapbooking at the moment is birds!  They've been around for a while, yet more and more designs are hitting the market and they are still as cute as ever!  Scrapware's birds are no exception.

Here are a few layouts featuring our feathered friends.

This layout features Scrapware's funky bird, a feather, clock hands and new Impact lettering.

BIRDS OF A FEATHER

To achieve a "feathered" look on the chipboard, I have used a white ink to show the texture of the feathers.  The lettering and bird have also been "double" inked, first with khaki, then gold.

On this layout, the funky bird and flourish have been left raw.  Scrapware raw chipboard is a gorgeous colour and provides a great neutral embellishment on your layout.

TODAY

This layout features my new peacock.  I have inked the peacock in a deep blue, with the wing and tail ends in deep jade.  I have then coated the peacock in glitter paint.  The wing and tail ends have been raised on foam tape.

SO PROUD

Who says a bird needs to perch on a branch?  Why not use a flourish or clock hand.
